Each area attack type has differing dimension outlined specific to the weapon (see Tables).

  • Boom! Grenades, bombs, molotov, all have a radius effect, multiple targets affected — saving throw required; 1/2 damage if you succeed, full damage if you don’t (to hit roll VS. AC).
  • Cone! Sonics, some weapons create a ‘triangular’ effect, multiple targets affected — saving throw required; 1/2 damage if you succeed, full damage if you don’t (to hit roll VS. AC).
  • Strafe! Machineguns, carbines, flamers all create a narrow ‘rectangular’ effect, multiple targets affected — saving throw required; 1/2 damage if you succeed, full damage if you don’t (to hit roll VS. AC).

Anyone caught in the focal point of the attacks ( red squares ) suffer -4 to their saving throw.

Honorable Mention — not an area of attack, but the regular attack:

  • Point! Slugs, lasers, blasters, etc which are ‘point and shoot’ straight trajectory, 1 target per action, no save.
